JACK ROPER RESERVE ARTICLE

Last Monday, on the 10th of May, the Year 8s went on an excursion to Jack Roper Reserve. We went on the excursion during their allocated art classes for two periods to draw the beautiful Australian landscape. It was a highly enjoyable experience and extremely calming to be surrounded by nature while we completed our landscape drawings. We were surrounded by all types of trees, leaves and beautiful scenery, allowing us the freedom of choosing any part of the reserve that suited our personal styles and abilities. Every student had different options of sketching the landscape, including the creek, the bridge, the billabong, the gum trees, the eucalyptus trees, et cetera. All in all, the Year 8s had a wonderful and therapeutic experience, in which they engaged with their surroundings, converting the environment around them onto paper.
